The Vice-President is elected pursuant to Article IV(3) of the by-laws.
Term:
Under authority of Article V(6) of the by-laws the Vice-President will be elected annually and hold office until he/she dies, resigns, is removed, is disqualified, or until his/her successor is elected and takes office.
Authority:
- Under authority of Article IV(14) of the By-laws and in the absence of the President, he/she presides over all meetings of the Association.
- Under authority of Article XII(1) of the by-laws and in the absence of the President or in addition to the President, all documents requiring execution on behalf of the Association shall be signed by the Vice-President.
- Under authority of Article XI(3) of the by-laws the Vice-President is one of the PAR signing officers for purposes of cheques drawn on the association's account.
- The Vice-President is responsible for ensuring that the planning processes are in place so that the board of directors can update the Mission Statement as required.
- The Vice-President is responsible for ensuring that PAR-BC develops and revises as required its strategic priorities.
- The Vice-President is responsible for ensuring that the association charts its future direction
- The Vice-President is responsible for planning the annual strategy meeting
- The Vice-President and/or delegate functions as the PAR representative to the UBC Medical Alumni Executive Committee
