Residents can also seek help at the Dean of Professionalism and Equity office at UBC if they are experiencing discrimination of any type at work.  UBC’s policies on Discrimination can be found on their website: http://www.med.ubc.ca/education/Postgraduate_Medical_Education/Policies.htm

Any information going to PAR-BC and UBC are completely confidential, and should a resident need help at any point they should contact PAR-BC directly to ensure that they receive the help that they need.

Any types of discrimination or harassment is not tolerated by UBC as an institution, and we encourage all residents to speak with someone should they encounter any unfair practices at work.

On a legal side, PAR-BC can also help residents should they encounter discrimination in the forms of Human Rights, and can file for Human Rights.
