PAR-B.C. recognizes that a resident's primarily responsibility is to his/her training program. Nonetheless, PAR-B.C. believes that the decision to moonlight is the personal choice of the resident. Any difficulties which arise as a result of a resident's moonlighting should be resolved between the resident and his/her program.
Policy:
The following motion as passed at the April 21 1997 meeting of the board of directors becomes the PAR position on moonlighting.
While recognizing that the primary role and responsibility of residents is their residency training program, PAR-B.C. supports the concept of moonlighting by residents.
